Brake line / fuel line ???
My wife's 01' Bravada lost it's brakes last week, Brake line & fuel lines next to the fuel tank are rusted out. I pulled the tank & the 3 lines going to the tank. I can save part of the original steel lines but to make a long story short, my wife's work makes the fuel injection lines for GM used on the pickups & Hummers. The hoses are a hard plastic/rubber line wrapped in fiberglass & baked. The hoses are rated @ 6,000 psi. I'm going to replace the rusted section on the fuel lines with 2 clamps at each end. Now can i use this hose on the brake line too? I was going to replace the bad section of brake line with steel line but since she "borrowed" this hose. I know the hose is strong enough but would 2 hose clamps at each end hold? Her boss said that someone else there used these hoses to replace all the steel fuel lines on his truck & had no problems with the clamps. Sorry for the long post & thanks in advanced for any help.

Re: Brake line / fuel line ???
I've used hose clamps on my air compressor hoses in a pinch with hose barbs and they hold to 130PSI. I just don't know if I'd trust them with a highly combustible fluid at 43PSI, if that is the pressure the fuel systems run at or the 800PSI or better the brakes operate at. It seems dangerous to me.

Anything else will be taking your life and other peoples life in your hands. ![]() Your local parts places have plenty of steel lines already made up with metric or sae fittings. Also splicing in fuel lines is not good. If just steel part on fuel line you can splice in some steel line with double flare fittings. Good Luck
