Next performance Mod??

I am planning my next mod and need some help deciding. I have a 2004 Pontiac grand Prix 3.8 N/A . So far I have the following:

stage 1 zzp 1.0 pcm
180 degree thermostat
10.3 zzp wires
Cold air intake
ZZP fuel pump rewire, voltage booster, alternator rewire
Front power log, Ceramic Coated crossover pipe
2.5" downpipe w/ high flow cat
2.5 " cat back exhaust all the way to the mufflers W/ Flowmaster 40 series.
shift Kit w/ dexVI
3800 Poly dog bone mounts, GMPP trailing arms.

I am leaning torwards the ER Rockers from zzp, the HV3 insert, shorter dogbone mounts and front poly dogbone bushings.

the other option I was looking at was the GT1 cam, 90# springs, rollermaster timing chain, and hv3 insert.

I am leaning torward the rockers, HV3 because it is a much easier install and looking at the power claims it seems to be a good option. The cam install will cost me about 180+ dollars more. I want to stay around $6-800. I wish I would have got the GTP, but too late now Any opinions and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Next performance Mod??

Rockers would give you better streetability if it is your daily driver.

Re: Next performance Mod??

Yeah it is my daily driver. I was looking into the ss m90 or top swap from ED Morad's but both are around $11-1200 to do. I think the more economical choice would probably be the rockers and HV3. any other suggestions? What do you think should be my next suspension mod?

Re: Next performance Mod??

i would get the hv3 before anything else. thats what im getting next. then i would cam it. that is just my opinion. from what ive read on here, pulling your engine forward (the shorter dog bones) will cause stress on your transmission motor mount

I am doing both the HV3 and ER rockers. I want to do them at the same time since I will have the plenum out of the way, makes it easier to reach the back valve covers. I will go ahead and replace the lower intake while I am at it. I am not going with the shorter dogbones, instead I will stiffen them up with the poly rear inserts.

As far as suspension mod, maybe front and rear strut tower braces? I have a ZZP one on my front they used to sell for 70.00.

Re: Next performance Mod??

LOL - no turbo for me, way too much money to do it right. I will have the rockers and hv3 in about 3-4 weeks. I will Dyno it again to see how much.... or little I gained from the last dyno.
TIM- I was thinking, the strut braces would be a good next suspension upgrade so I will do those. I was also thinking of putting the 97-03 control arms on and getting the progress front sway bar. I think that would stiffen it up a little.

Re: Next performance Mod??

Sounds good, let us know how the dyno turns out. Don't forget to order replacement rocker arm bolts.

I'm not sure I'd swap out the lower controll arms to the old design if I was you. The 97-03's have problems with the pressed in lca bushings. (04+ could be the same way but I wouldn't know). Does GMPP make a stabilizer bar for your car? Or speedbuilt off pfyc.com? At the very least you could install poly stabilizer bushings and endlinks. I saw a set on PFYC.com a while back that only worked with the stock stabilizer bar diameter. If I remember right, they had pretty good reviews.

Re: Next performance Mod??

They make the rear sway bar, but as far as I know they do not make a front sway bar for the 04+. I will check for those links though, I do not like the rod type links on the front of the 04+ Grand Prix.

Re: Next performance Mod??

I looked on PFYC and did not see any poly endlinks or stab bushings for the 04+. The control arms are the same exept the 04+ does not have the additional welded braket for the 97-03 link type.

Re: Next performance Mod??

How does the stabilizer bar connect to the 04+ GP's? Just wondering. I will look and see if I can find the poly bushings and endlinks...

Re: Next performance Mod??

They connect from the strut to the stabilizer bar on the 04+ ......... On my 97 GT they connect from the stabilizer bar to the control arm.

Thanks for the help
