Buying a second home

What I wanna know is, has anybody here lost a home that they were buying? If so, is it possible to buy another home? Or are you doomed to renting for the rest of your life?

I know I can look it up on the internet, I just wanna hear some of your opnions, and if anyone here has any experiance or knowledge on this issue.

Re: Buying a second home

What do you mean by "lost a home"? You agreed to buy a home, but someone else scooped it before the deal closed? It burned down? A bit more detail would be helpful.

Re: Buying a second home

How do I put this.

We basicly baught the land from someone in the neighborhood, after fighting for it. We had a home built on the land, for our kids sake. Got a pretty good deal on it, the price that is. Twenty or twenty five year note. We would fall late once in a while, due to mail and all. Yet we would get it cleared up pretty fast, with real no problems. Mabye a late fee or two.

Any who within the last year or so, some one started comming in our home accusing me of being the "neighbor in question's sister" and offering my kids money.

To sum it up, We were ran out of our home, by the verry pricks, who we faught to keep our land in the first place.

I don't care if it's a 14'x70', or a American dream home, it's how much rent you pay while living!

Re: Buying a second home

The question is: how were you "run out" of your home? Did you not pay your mortgage and the bank took it? Did the neighbors kick you out by force? What actually happened?

More detail on the circumstances of how your were "run out", clear details, need to be posted before anyone can comment on your situation.

Re: Buying a second home

Errrr, We ran off out of fear for the kids saftey, or at least I did with the kids.

The woman I was caring fo (granny) passed away, thus money lost on my part. It waqs paying for the kids school clothes and every thing else they need. Plus any help with what ever bills. I was informed of her death, but not when the funeral was. I was unable to attend.
.
At the same time he lost his job. Got another about the same time income tax was comming in. ( catch up payment ), which was also enough to pay nearly a full years home payment.

It is a looooong story

Re: Buying a second home

Only base a house payment on the lowest spouse income, we loose homes, because of health, death, divorce, and lost jobs.

Re: Buying a second home

I am almost amazed at despite having started a thread and subsequently made three follow up posts, very little useful information has been given.
Whatever sob story you may have doesn't mean much to the situation.

You say you bought the land the house was built on.
How did you buy the land?
Whose name/s were on the deed?
Was money borrowed to buy the land?
Whose name was money borrowed on?
Same with the house.
Who owned the house?
Who borrowed money?

You say you occasionally fell behind on payments.
Were these ever negotiated with the lender or did you just miss a payment?
i.e did you let them know you might be late in paying?
Assuming that your name was used to borrow money, was it ever recorded that you defaulted on a payment?
What about other lending?
What is your personal credit history like?
What is your employment situation like?

As someone said, if you were legally evicted then that is a very big black mark to have next to your name.
From what you have posted, it sounds like you simply ran away leaving debts.
That is also a very big black mark.
