Thinking of getting a '01 TL

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Acura TL with 82,000 miles for $7,000 this week. It's really clean and it seems to be in very good condition. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me any issues with these cars, if I'm getting a good or acceptable deal, generally if I should go ahead and buy this one. Thanks for your input

They have very bad Trans issues. There is a TSB on them. Pretty much anything honda/acura 99-03 with v-6 has trans issues. just replaced 01 odyssey trans this past friday.

Re: Thinking of getting a '01 TL

The auto trans in the 01-03 TL is known to go out prematurely. It's hit and miss, some people go 200k miles or more with no problems with their transmissions while some crap out way sooner than they should. So it's not guaranteed you'll have problems but it's a possibility.

The 99-00 TL and the 04+ TL do not have this problem.

Other than the automatic transmission it's a solid car.
