College Truck

I have a '2000 Ford F150 with a used engine. Two igniter coils were replaced. Recently, engine would crank but not start. Friend kicked the gas tank and truck started!? This scenario happened several times. Now it starts but runs rough while accelerating. At idle, and while cruising, seems to be smooth. Could this problem be the fuel pump or possibly more igniter coil problems.
Thanks, Bruce

Re: College Truck

Based on the effect kicking the fuel tank has, I'd lean towards a fuel pump problem. Either a weak pump or a loose connection...or both.

Re: College Truck

Maybe the inlet screen for the fuel pump was plugged. Kicking the tank might have opened it up a little bit.
