Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4

Kit brand: Hasegawa
Paint: Mitsubishi W83
Modifications: Front end headlight reshape + reflectors, bumper and hood grill opened, side crease lines reshape, more accurate interior, lowered ride height, Wedsport TC005 wheels, chassis reshaped to fit more accurate interior, exhaust from aluminum tubing, side markers separate pieces, side mirrors from Tamiya Evo 6.

At last this is finished! Of all the evos I've built, this one has taken me the longest time to get the body looking right. The molded grills from the kit were very thick and I broke a PE saw opening them, the headlight remake using millput was hard since it involves adding milliput at the edges making them very fragile. The side door character lines took about a week of constant primer and sanding work, I still think it could get straighter, but I gave up. I think the biggest improvement to the kit is the front end mod, since the headlights from the original kit are too small, and looked like the front of the car has hit a wall.

While not shown in pictures, in order to fit the tamiya Evo 6 interior into the hasegawa kit, I needed to modify the hasegawa reused chassis (move the gas tank back). Some Tamiya Evo 5 WRC suspension parts were also used in order to fit the 16-17 inch Wedsport wheels into the 4. The struts were also scratchbuilt to let wheels take the spaces they need, but I didn't spend any effort to make them look nice. Headlight reflectors were from an old Tamiya Evo 6.

Besides the many part tranplants off an old Tamiya Evo 6 kit, some usual details have also been added to this model, such as side markers, steel key holes, and windshield washer nozzles. This is my second body sprayed with 2K clear.
