3.1L and 3.8L swap
The 3.1L engine in my 92 Firebird is junk and i want to swap it out with a 3800. Im wondering if anybody would know which kind of GM vehicle i could pull one out of that would be an easy swap. I appreciate any help

Re: 3.1L and 3.8L swap
I think a replacement 3.1L would be the easyest thing. To covert a 3.1L to a 3.8L you need a rear drive block and an intake to match. Then you will have to find wireing to match the new sensors. it is not easy!

Re: 3.1L and 3.8L swap
Yes a 4.3L has the same set up as a 350. If you find a firebird harness for a tbi everything will match. (may need to use different sensors) Just need to find a 4.3L computer aswell. Best places to look would be form a 1988-1994 c1500 with 4.3L. Same somputer plug in as the firebird. Hope that helps
