I'd probablt check the feed circuits to and from the ignition switch, maybe you already did? Will the vehicle start and run? Have the codes checked.

too many different circuits going bad ,,,,must be a ground circuit...

you need to use a meter to verify if its the positive or ground circuits at fault.

when checking circuits you must check for proper grounds/return...

having a positive connection/feed is only half the circuit...if you don't have a proper ground these issues like yours occur..

Hi,
When my 97 wouldn't communicate with the scan tool, It was caused by a blown fuse for the lighter socket.

since you had an after market remote starter installed this could be part of the problem...these people use in most cases , poor connections that are not to be used in any application never mind a vehicle ...

gm vehicles have a well known defect with the ground connections throughout the vehicle.. normally in the rust belt regions..

the ground points through out the vehicle need be removed cleaned to shinny metal re-installed then coated with a undercoating product...

engine compartment, under the driverseat under the vehicle, frame rail next to the fuel tank, behind the engine,,,,etc....

thinking about this it is possible,,, the BCM gets screwed up when this module shorts out...

these circuits are GM top secret...so it is impossible to say for sure ...
