I think its perfect, great little design and the rims suit it perfectly. What are you going to paint on the surf boards? Despite the blurry pics, looks like a very clean build.

Re: first ever scratchbuilding!

thanks for the kind words,

the wheels on the trailer are from a beetle that was in my mom's house for almost 20 years (i was 11 when i build that one with my dad),
yes the surfboard will be painted, what i don't know yet. Maybe give me some ideas (but have to be painted by spraycan, because don't own a airbrush).

I've also made a surfboard from wood, have to make another so i can paint one in a very nice color and one will remain wood with varnish on it, so you will see the woodgrain in it.

the trailer will be painted with white or black, there must be made fenders to and another roof carrier.

maybe someone has an idea for a towbar because i'm a little stuck with that.

c&c welcome.

Re: first ever scratchbuilding!

Looks really neat!

If you had it open topped you could model my mates Radio Flyer hot rod in there!

Hi Paul,

Really great work so far mate..Scratch building can be very rewarding..
An idea for the tow hitch, have a look in some craft shops (or raid your wife's sewing supply......)
Find some of the large headed pins, usually large coloured heads. Pick one which looks to be close to scale.
Drill the towbar on the trailer to suit, not all the way through though...you want to make a cup to sit over the "ball"...(pin head)

Add a safety chain to the finished hitch.
