Honda Accord 2000 Stereo Code

I recently ran into trouble with my Honda 2000 accord stereo. After changing the battery, I got a 'code e' message. When the dealer asked $140 to fix it, Idecided to do it myself.

Step 1: go to the following website:
https://radio-navicode.honda.com/

Done correctly, this website will give you a 5-digit code. I found the radio/stereo serial number in the glove compartment. It reads something like this: 'M98K41322'.

Due to several failed attempts, I was unable to key in my code.

Step 2. Go on an hour drive and leave the radio on with the message on 'code e'. Exactly 60 minutes later, there will be a long 'meep' and the 'e' will dissapear and you will see only 'code'

Step 3: Punch the 5 digit code and you should be all set.

Hope this is helpful. I have benefited so much from this forums, I decided to post this to 'pay it forward'.

Cheers!!

it's a shame stealerships are trying to rip people for $100+ to unlock an almost worthless radio.
