04 2500 speed-o & radio problems

First started a while ago. Radio would not shut off when doors were opened and keys were out of ignition. problem went away for a while. Just last week, radio actually turned back on by itself when truck was parked for a while!!!! So, I disconnected the battery and reconnected when we left a couple days later(we were fishing up the gunflint) When we took off that morning, the speed-o read 25mph while we were idling. after stopping for gas and shutting truck off, speed-o went down to 10 mph while idling. Any information would be greatly appreciated. No check engine light has come on or anything else. Truck seems to run fine, other than this.

Re: 04 2500 speed-o & radio problems

well, I hopefully found a solution in the Tahoe forum for the speedometer.

Is my radio problem the same as the one archived at the top of the page??? hopefully it is, I will try the reset tomorrow after work and post if it worked or not.

Re: 04 2500 speed-o & radio problems

Speed-o is back to normal. I checked fuses for the stereo problem but everything seemed alright. I shut the truck off removed the keys and opened the door and everything shut down like it should. 15 minutes later, the stereo came back on. I did some wiggling of wires and harnesses to see if I had a short or if it would kick off. I moved my door in a touch and everything shut off. I think I may have a broken or loose wire somewhere between the door switch and the inner fuse panel??? I'll get it in the garage this weekend and do some checking.
