Evaporator diagnoses.
The wife has had dye put into her 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C twice at 2 different shops but neither one can find the leak.
I have the time to pull the dash but how can I know for sure that the evap. is the problem? Thanks for any help. |

Re: Evaporator diagnoses.
Most of the time, if you can't find anything else leaking, the evaporator is probably leaking. Have them check for dye at the a/c drain.

Re: Evaporator diagnoses.
Thanks for your replies.
hundahunta, can you elaborate on the evap probe method? I have the factory service manual for the vehicle. I see I'll need to remove the glove box, disconnect the probe & remove the evap probe grommet. This looks like it will expose a portion of the evap. Am I just looking for any signs of moisture on the exposed evap? Thanks again. |

Re: Evaporator diagnoses.
you usually look for oil on the coil..and dust and debris stuck in that area...if they installed dye usually a uv or black light will expose the leak..
