Just wanted to say hi

New to sight just trying to figure everything out. I own a 67 GTO that my dad bought for me in 1980 that has been a drag car since I turned 16.. It has a 455 with 13 Heads, runs 11.50 in 1/4 at 114mph at almost 4k lbs.. I am currently in process of putting it back on street.. I have a few parts I would Like to sell. 455 Motors, heads, few other things.. Also have a set of 20" Boss wheels I would like to sell. I bought them for the GTO but need money to get new race car going agin.. If anyone is interested let me know..

Thanks David

Re: Just wanted to say hi

David,

Welcome aboard! Always room for another fast GTO. Let us know when you want that beast to go in the 10s! Many changes in the last few years around building Pontiac engines. What was once a powerful "race" engine is now a "mild" street engine. That is, 600 HP on pump gas is now routine with the ol' Injun.

Re: Just wanted to say hi

Good looking car! Smokey burnouts are never a problem for a Pontiac...

Was that an old Edelbrock Torker I spied on there? Beware some of the "gurus" that will tell you you can't make power with that intake. (Bravo Sierra!!!).

What part of Dayton? I have cousins all over the area. Were you at the POCI race at Xenia last June? Dirty Bird had it's ONLY "aborted" run there (for a full year, 24 passes, the ONLY one aborted). Sheered the key holding the blower pulley hub in place. Fixed it, went to VMP and made another 6.50s pass just to be "sure". Was #1 qualifier at Norwalk (TriPower Nats) and "low ET of the meet" (6.62 @ 211). He lost in a bracket race. Funny cars aren't supposed to bracket race... (:-

Hi, David.

You one of those Pontiac "sickos" too? Argh! Argh! Humor... Always remember, arrowheads flatten ovals, tear bowties and pierce pennstars... (:-

Maybe you're right, it's a form of sickness but a Great One. Problem is, once you eat steak you don't want any more bologna. After a while you run out of cash buying all the nice steaks but can't go back to eating KAM...

Then I guess we die? lol
