too much transmission fluid affect nuetral safety switch????HELP
1995 jeep Grand cherokee 4.0l jeep wont start or turn over i am not sure if too much tranny fluid would affect the neutral safety switch or not i noticed i had a bit much tranny fliud the key seems weird like its loose or?? but its all in all acting like it did when i had a bad nuetral safety switch ..lights ect come on but will not even turn over or even click and like i said the key seems to be loose or turns farhter than norm

1) Trans fluid - to save your trans, lower to the proper level asap. 2 ways to do it - either snake a hose down the fill tube and pump it out, or drop the pan.
2) NSS bolts to the outside on your model, right? So probably not affected. You could clean it again, and also I'd check the linkage on the shifter to make sure it's getting all the way into Park when you try to start. Easy way to check the linkage is to put it in Neutral and try to start it...if it starts, then the position on the shifter is a little off. 3) You mentioned the key...there have been instances where a bad ignition switch caused a failure to run. If yours is as loose as you say, then it might bear replacing.
