remote starter problem
i recently installed a remote starter in my mother in laws 05 dodge caravan, and im having trouble witht he key. with the ignition key out, it starts by remote but shuts off after 3 seconds , but with the key in the ignition, not turned just pushed in, it starts by remote and stays running! I'm assuming that this is an issue with some sort of chip in the key. is there anyway to get around this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Re: remote starter problem
What brand is the remote start? I installed a couple of Bulldogs & had to call their support a couple a times. They were very helpful. You might need to buy a spare key & a module to put the key in.

Re: remote starter problem
If the van has gray headed keys or if the oe remote controls are built together with the ignition keys then you need a bypass. I love to use Fortin bypasses. They work great, don't have to hide keys in your dash, and even have the MUX output that's needed on this van.
