Question What should i swap into my 88 RX-7 GTU

Ok i just bought my RX-7 about a month ago and it runs fine except it burns oil and the trany might be going. but anywase i was wondering what would be the best swap for my car that would be afordable but still give me the power that i want.

i also agree with the people that dont like the thought of putting pistons into an RX-7. and for now i want to get a 20b out of a cosmo but i dont know where to get one or what prices they are gonna run

anything info will help thanks

Your BEST bet would be the 13B out of a 2nd gen turbo RX-7 or out of a 3rd gen. They are relatively cheap and would make for an easy install. The 20B is going to require a hell of a lot of work to make it fit, but you will have some pretty massive performance at your disposal. As for finding one, I know www.corksport.com has them, but you'll be waiting a while for it. They take a while to find, as not many 20Bs are out there. Their price is $3999 plus shipping. I doubt you'll find one anywhere else for much cheaper, if at all, but you should look around regardless, if you really want the 3-rotor.

er... uh.. well your enginge is SUPPOSED to burn oil, i hope you know. Not too much, aobut 1 quart every 700-1000 miles give or take.

That 20B swap at the very LEAST will cost $10,000 (trust me, im doing it this summer) assuming you do all the labor yourself. here's a list of shit you need for a 20B swap:http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/SWAP/COSMO/20b.html

edit: i misread your pistons part

I hope I don't get in trouble but I say put a Ford 302 EFI or Gm 350.

http://members.tripod.com/~grannys/rx7.html

Can you believe someone put an LT1 in a 3rd gen.

I can understand putting a V8 in 1st or 2nd gen.
