Bad Knocking noise when driving 40mph and turn wheel 5 degrees to the left?
Does anyone have any idea why when I am going 40-65mph and I turn the wheel a little bit to the left (5 degrees or so) i get a bad knocking noise from the drivers side by the front wheel? I can turn the wheel past the noise and when I turn the wheel to the right it doesn't make the noise either. Please help!!!!

Re: Bad Knocking noise when driving 40mph and turn wheel 5 degrees to the left?
sounds like a bad cv joint or bad wheel bearing. these style gm front wheel bearings are known for problems, gotta replace the whole assembly, not just bearings and races like the old days.

Re: Bad Knocking noise when driving 40mph and turn wheel 5 degrees to the left?
most likely it's the wheel bearing.......... I had this problem before, you can find out by jacking the front of the car up and try to moving each front tire. If you notice that you can whoobble one the tires then its the wheel bearing...........Easily to fix. just go to a junk yard and replace the whole steering knuckle for $30..............
