1999 4.0 GC larado Cam and crank positioning sensor
Tons of trouble and desparate for help. Jeep running very rough/missing after warming, keep getting the cam and the crakshaft positioning sensor codes. Replaced both TWICE, fear of getting a bad one from auto parts store. trouble started after I had to replace the oil presser sensor, but was running rough at the time as well. Also replaced the fuel filter/regulator as well. Can not get this thing to run correct and keep getting the same codes..anyhelp will be a God send.

I usually think simple: how long has it been since you replaced your spark plugs? (the 99 does NOT have plug wires, right?)

yeah, did that too, forgot to mention. I did figure out that the oil drive kinda replaces the distributor so i "Timed " it by ear ...running much better and no codes but still slight miss...still driving me crazy...thanks very much for the thoughts

What plugs did you use? Anything but Champions can cause an issue.

Oh yeah, and what are the codes that you are getting? I didn't see them in your post.
OK, I see that you're getting the cam and crank position codes. Hopefully someone better with the electricals will be along shortly to talk intelligently about what both of those together mean...I don't know; but I could speculate about the connections for those sensors being interrupted, or the connections in and around the computer, which I've heard of happening.
