93 Jimmy won't start after replacing fuel pump
I have a 1993 GMC Jimmy 4.3L Vortec. I was having issues with it starting. After reading several forums online, and the Chilton manual. I determined it to be the fuel pump. I have since replaced the fuel pump, which was definitely bad because the old one was burnt to a crisp. I had to get a new harness and everything. Now, after replacing it, my Jimmy still will not start. It does the same thing. It turns over, but it's like it just won't turn over. Is there anything stupid that needs to be done after replacing a fuel pump that someone who is not a mechanic wouldn't know about it? I'm at a loss. I have also replaced the fuel filter, just fyi.

Check the fuel pump fuse, relay, and reset!

Re: 93 Jimmy won't start after replacing fuel pump
Is the new pump running? If so, check fuel pressure and leakdown. Ignition in the run position, engine off, fuel pump running: pressure must be 55psi to 61psi and must remain above 50psi for 3 to 5 minutes after the pump shuts off.
