driver window prob 02 crewcab

the driver side door window will not roll up using the switch. you can hear the motor moving something up and down. i can pull the window up but it will slowly go down. how do i fix this issue.what is going on here

open the door panel. you will find that the window has cables..these cables as supplied by GM rust out...when they break this is what happens..

my both door window regulators has failed when the truck was only 2years old ...got the parts at 1A auto for a good price ...2 for 120.oo approx..

make sure you coat the steel cables with white lithium grease when installing new parts.

i will definately try that tomorrow since im off. its 16 degrees outside and when that window starts to go down...i freeze my butt off.
