Can't get IMTV off

Trying to take of my IMTV on a 95 Blazer Vin W CPI. I have got it to lift up a bit from the plenum but it is really not moving w/o a hell of a lot of effort and screwdriver prying and channel lock wrenching.

Any suggestions or past experience on how this should go would be appreciated.

I want to peek in the plenum to look for gas washing.

Thanks

Re: Can't get IMTV off

Spray WD40 around the edge and twist back and forth. If you pull and stick a screwdriver in there, you are likely to damage the o-ring you need for reinstallation....

Re: Can't get IMTV off

I will probably try this. Can anyone else confirm this is a good idea?

My impression is that it won't fully rotate, only a few degrees and it really needs to come straight out. Right?

Re: Can't get IMTV off

I got the IMTV off. I don't think the WD-40 helped since it was dust/sand/grit that was binding the aluminum boss against the ID of the plenum bore.

The IMTV should have been able rotate out since there is no registration (round part in round hole) but it was just locked up. I had to pry it up under the hole "flanges" and pull real hard w/ channel locks. Found extreme washing under the regulator on the left and couldn't see anything on the right side, but it is hard to see much of it.

Will post in another thread more questions.
