Private Lynch Movie

NBC has announced that they are going to make a movie about Private Jessica Lynch. Ok, Im glad she made it home safely and I realize she was the only one of her group to survive, but her ordeal is over and she is now recuperating. WHY DO THEY NEED TO MAKE A MOVIE!? It just doesnt make sense to me. It's like the people have nothing better to do. Let bygones be bygones and drop it. It's over, Im willing to bet she is probably honored about the idea, but still. Im sorry if anyone finds this as a blatant bitch, but that's how I feel. What do you all think about this?

Glad one of our own is home, but her return is highly overdramatisized (that even a word?), like everything else in the war coverage. Let them make a movie, I don't have to watch it.

err...but wait a minute...........isn't most of Hollywood populated by the anti-war fraternity?Suppose if there's a buck in it,it's justified.I'm of the opinion that most of the good plotlines for action films have been played out already, they'd only be rehashing the same old stunts and sentimental heroism around the character.A film isn't such a bad idea anyway....it will be no less an accurate portrayal of events than some of the news items seen lately.

I don't think the movie could ever truely show what that girl probably went through. As a fellow West Virginian, fellow american...hell, fellow human being...I feel sorrow for what she probably endured over there, but making a movie out of it? It's just some Hollywood ploy to make money. And you all think you're getting a lot of her story there...try living in the girls home state. She's a hero here. What about my 3 friends that are over there on the front lines fighting? No coverage aimed at them??

I think we all knew it was a matter of time till that story was made into a movie. It'll be over dramatic and probably won't be an accurate representation. A movie is at least an hour and half long. The entire incident took a few minutes (the fighting) and how much can they show of her being interrogated. They'll play up the rescue operation into the bulk of the show and like T said. Thats been played out quite often already.

on the subject of Private Lynch,I did wonder about the apparent inconsistencies of reports on field medical care. This report paints an entirely different picture of the 'rescue' of Private Lynch

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...648517,00.html

It would be good if instead of making the usual gung-ho patriotic postwar movies, the filmmakers tried to find out the absolute and unvarnished truth, and make a three part film showing what really happened, and then how it was 'interpreted' by the news organisations on both sides.

Actually, while I think its sick, as long as the Lynch's have some say so of what is told in the movie and get a nice chunk of change I have no problem with it.

I think I can agree with that.
