Re: 340 horses for $3495
Greetings ... This is the engine I installed after twisting my stock one ... Couple points to watch for ; It comes w/ a long snout water pump & a timing chain cover that will accept a mechanical fuel pump which creats a engine thats about 2" to long to drop in ... Had to pull off the pump , chain cover , pan & transfer parts from old motor ... Then get a set of older Cobra pully's ; which Ford does not make any more ; found a under driven set ... Then it also required a Ford Racing spacer on the crank for proper alinement ; 351 a,b or c ; can't remember ... Also we had to make one cut on the old timing cover , a bolt casting for clearence ... Ford Racing Tech. was great , they knew about all these issues & the cure once they knew what I neded to do ... My Advice is if your going to get this engine is to work w/ your Ford R. Dealer & have them build it to order ...
Also get more cam , I'm going to try 1:7 ratio rockers instead of pulling the cam it came with ... Hope this will Help ... Paul Winship / Duluth , MN . 218.393.4848 if you want to talk ...

Re: 340 horses for $3495
I'm back ... I bought & installed the M-6007 XEFMS / 302 c.i. 340 hp ...Looking at pics of both engines ; I still see the same issues ...
Also , get the gasket sets from Ford Racing for your manifolds , I chased the Felpro Catalog to death & still ended up trimming them to match up to the port geometry ... Paul W. |
