99 front wiper question
Hi, At high way speed, when the wipers are on. The passenger side of the windshield wiper blade overshoots the edge of the windshield and about 6 inches bend rearward from the wind. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Re: 99 front wiper question
Check that the wiper is bolted securely to the pivot shaft. Bend the arm so the blade comes off the windshield and stays in the service position. Then try to rotate the arm about the pivot shaft and move it, if it is loose, remove the nut, clean out the stripped metal from the pivot shaft's knurls and bolt back down so the knurls will bite into the armhead hole...anyone have a torque value for the nut?
If the arm and pivot shaft are tight then check the bend point on the arm to see if it is worn or loose. If so, the arm will have to be replaced. Finally, it could be the wiper blade to arm connection that is worn. If it wiggles relative to the arm it is time to replace the connector clip attaching it. If you hear clunking when it is running then it may be a broken arm pivot under the cowling. Hope this helps!
