1997 Sable dropping resister.

Is the dropping resister for the cooling fan motor a dealer item only? If its available aftermarket what company offers them.

Re: 1997 Sable dropping resister.

I checked with a Ford dealer and he said they were discontinued. He did check the computer and found one in the state at a Ford dealer.

I ran that part number you gave me through my Hollander data base and came up with nothing of course. Any they wonder why I haven't renewed my subscription for the updates. Just another example.

Re: 1997 Sable dropping resister.

Its white and U shaped I assume most fans would pull the same amps as the fan motors fit various years. Its basically a resister. Thanks for checking.
