Tamiya Ferrari 312B 1/12

Hello,

here`s my actual project.

Its a Ferrari 312B from the Seventies. Its a really old Modelkit, but a way easier as the Lotus 78 i build befor.

I take a little bit of Tamiya Putty and have some sanding fun!

After that i take Tamiya Primer and make a litty overview of the parts.

The Cockpit is glued with ModelFactoryHiro Leatherstuff. It looks real.

Now is everything sprayed with Tamiya TS 8.I quiet happy with it.

After that i took 2 layer of TopCoat Clear over it.

Here are the aftermarket Decals i use.

The strearingwheel is made with flour and look nice,i think?

This are my selfmade Tire-valves.

Guys i hope you excuse my bad,bad english.
Look at the pictures and please let me know your opinion.

greeting
Capri-Schorsch

Re: Tamiya Ferrari 312B 1/12

Great looking build of what should be a really nice kit.

My only problem with that kit is the front tyres are far too wide! I shall keep mentioning on every one of their 312B WIPs, until finally Tamiya bother to get it right (after nearly 40 years of production!). The tyres are even correct on the box art, so god knows how they made this mistake and have never rectified it?

PS. Just had look at your 956 Jagermeister -lovely job!

Everything looks great, right down to the very realistic tire valves. Look forward to more updates.

Re: Tamiya Ferrari 312B 1/12

It seems like a good job your on this model, but the only big mistake in this kit are the wrong tires as they are in this reproduction really too wide and not in scale,if you want the defect is solved with a set of resin tires from
Matilde Models for their 1969 Ferrari 312;only the tires that must be adapted in diameter to the original Tamiya wheels. If you want you can send an e mail to Mr. Stefano Iori owner of Matilde Models here :[email protected] with your request.

Re: Tamiya Ferrari 312B 1/12

Thanks for your offer, but for me its not so important if the tyres are wrong or not.
The people who look at home on it dont know what is the right size.Maybee some of them will ask if this car was driven by M.Schumacher.

By the way can you tell me the prize for your resin tyers and do you have same pictures?

Thanks
Schorsch

Re: Tamiya Ferrari 312B 1/12

I don't know the prize of those tires as i'm not connected with Matilde Models,I'm only a modeler just like you,I kept this information from an italian automotive modelling site;

it was just an advice to improve the model if you want.
