I have a thumping noise under the floor board in my 96 F150 short bed pickup and I think it may be a bad bushing on the steering mechanism. I had a 1 ton 65 which had those missing and I couldn't replace them as the nut was on the frame.
Both are ranch work trucks and shop space and tools are limited. Does anyone have a clue as to what I am trying to describe. |

Re: Thumping noise
Sounds like a radius arm bushing

Re: Thumping noise
If it is a regular thump that speeds up when the truck is going faster, the problem more than likely is a bad universal joint on the drive shaft.
