1/24 Tamiya Lotus Super 7 Series II
This one was intended to be a quick build, but I had some problems with painting and eventually the model took half a year to complete. Hope you like it.
![]() The body is finished with automotive paint and 2K clear. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I added some details under the hood: ignition wires and coil, brake and fuel lines, throttle cable, carb linkage, battery mount and wires. ![]() ![]() ![]() The front shocks were modified: I cut off the springs and made new springs from brass wire. The nose was also modified to make it removable. ![]() Thanks for viewing! |

Re: 1/24 Tamiya Lotus Super 7 Series II
Super clean model. Im going to be a little picky though, the copper lines take away from the build. Maybe painting them black would help. But don't get me wrong its a stunning model. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your comments!
MidMazar, I did not paint the lines because copper is what they are usually made of. I agree that they look a bit too bright on the model, but that's how newly installed lines would look. Next time I'll try to make them a bit darker. |

Re: 1/24 Tamiya Lotus Super 7 Series II
Very nice.
Have one in the works in exactly the same paint scheme. Has been in the works for several years because of paint problems. Painted it with Tamiya TS-spray and the yellow is a pain in the... to get an even finish with. Won't be as good as your's. Kris |

Thanks for the comments!
Kris, what color of primer did you use? If the primer was grey, that might be the reason why you can't get an even finish (I assume you mean even in terms of opacity, right?). |

Love seeing these kind of factory stock builds far more than the exotics and customs often posted here.
This is simply put a gorgeous build - the crispness and attention to detail make it really stand out to my eye. In many cases that is what makes a model 'click' versus adding tons of photo etch and aftermarket bits such as is often done when trying to make a 'masterpiece'. The amount of $ one spends on a project does not equate to it being a better model... My compliments on some very, very nice work Eugene78. Andrew |

This is one slick sharp model. Great job you did on it.

The paint scheme makes the "7" look so in period. Very well done, love it.

Re: 1/24 Tamiya Lotus Super 7 Series II
Thanks for the comments!
Well, it's a bit hard to explain without pictures... I had some sheets of self-adhesive velvet paper that was not actually paper but some sort of a textured PVC film covered with flock. I removed the flock with alcohol and attached the self-adhesive film to the seats - the texture and the color looked just right to my eye. |

Exceptionally clean build and nice additional details. I think the copper pipes look just right as that is how new ones appear for hydraulic systems for UK classics.
