97 blazer want take full throttle

I have a new to me 97 blazer that runs great, until you push the throttle over 3/4 of the way down. if you get into the throttle slow it will rev all the way up but if the throttle is push over 3/4 of the way down it goes up to about 3000 rpm and starts cutting out. not really sure of what all I need to look at. I bought a new TPS today and put it on and still have the same problem. By the way for about the first 30 sec the blazer is running you can push the gas all the way and it runs great. Thanks for any and all help that you can give me.

Check fuel filter, fuel pressure and leakdown. Key on, engine off, fuel pump running, pressure must be 60psi to 66psi and must remain above 55psi for 3 to 5 minutes. Post your results.

this may be a dumb question and i apologize in advance when hitting throttle all the way down are you driving or in park or nuetral they do have a rev limiter that restricts rpms lower unless theres a load on the engine

The 4.3L CSFI engine is not equipped with a rev limiter. It does have a governor that limits vehicle speed.
