Re: Fair Price for Minichamps

The new edition silver ones seem to be offered at around $300/£175 in the fair end of the price range. If you really hunt around you might find one cheaper. Watch for inflated shipping and handling charges on some of the cheaper options.

Asking prices on the originals in other colors seem to still hover above $500.

Re: Fair Price for Minichamps

2 original 1/12s, in red and blue, went for around £250.00 recently....

I have a deep blue one that may be going soon if you are interested......

Re: Fair Price for Minichamps

Easiest way to get the Pound sign is to copy/paste the one from my post.

To make one on a PC you can use the Character Map (Start -> Run -> type charmap) or navigate to it through the menus. Not sure where they are hidden on a Mac.

There's a keyboard shortcut on the PC that makes it even easier, done by holding down the Alt key while pressing 0163 in combination on the numeric keypad.

When looking at the special characters in the Character Map you will find that quite a few display the Keystroke shortcut in the lower right corner when you click on them. You can make all sorts of stuff without removing your hands from the keyboard if you can remember each code - © ¢ ¥ ® ™

The model is really quite fantastic, I think. Nothing better really in that price range for the F1. You shouldn't be disappointed at all. The only thing I think they got wrong was the depth of the luggage compartments when you open the side panels as they are far too shallow. If they weren't going to make them accurate, they should have filled them up with phony mockups of the fitted luggage. It's an incredibly minor annoyance though, hardly worth mentioning.
