Recent degree in Collision Repair

Hey Gang. . . Just graduated from a local technical college with an associate degree in General Occupational/Technical Studies (Auto Body/Collision Repair Technician). Also received a certificate as an Automotive Painter and another as an Auto Body Helper. I have never actually worked in the collision repair industry and am not fully confident in my ability. It is now time to try and put my degree to use but I am unsure as to what I should go after. What should I be looking for and what should I tell possible employers as I head out to the field? Just hoping someone with some experience in the field could give me some insight and use some of your knowledge to help me out. Thanks in advance.

When you go to body shops for job interviews The first thing is thing is to tell the boss that you just finished school and that your a hard worker, youll show up for work on time, When you land a job what will most likely happin is you will be put together with a journeyman body { 15-20yrs } experience. Dont worry about being in a rush to finish the job just go slow and do it right speed with come with experience. I wish you all the best. If you have any questions drop me a line.

Welcome to the industry. First of all you are not expected to know everything out of school. Your willingness to keep an open mind and learn is what you need. They will teach you what you need to know. Like Mark said, take your time and focus on quality. Speed will come later.
