Power Steering Pump Noise????
Guys I have a 94 Mazda B4000 4x4 which I understand in most cases is a Ranger. It has the 4.0 engine. My power steering pump is making noises like its low on fluid but is full. The fluid is sorta dirty looking but I wasn't sure if that would make it make that kind of noise. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Power Steering Pump Noise????
I'm going to resurrect this thread because I plan on changing a power steering unit on a 1999 Ranger 4.0L soon. This is a redo. Last pump was a A1 Cardone from AutoStoned. I did not know better at the time. I now have a Ford pump and will use Mercon V fluid in it.
I also need to replace the upper control arms, both sides. My question is......I looked at the steering rack, especially the tie rod ends off the boots......they are both twisted up a bit on the ball joints in different directions, is this normal positioning or do I need to be concerned? Any comment is welcomed. |
