Fuel pump cut off switch?

My son yesterday spilled about a gallon of gas in my 2000 jimmy in the back area (cargo area) it ran for about a hour then just stop running. Again there was quite a bit of gas that spilled, would that have activated the shut off switch because of the sheer amount of gas spilled in the cargo area? If so what steps must be taken to correct this. I did go out this morning after getting it towed and started for a minute then it shut off almost immediately, meaning it seems like its not getting enough gas to stay started, I have never had issues with this vehicle till this gas spilled. Please help

Re: Fuel pump cut off switch?

I don't think there's a sensor in the cargo area for Auto EVAP system, it would probably throw a code.
1) Check fuel pressure at the rail.
2) Check fuel pump fuse, relay, and reset.

How old is the fuel filter?
