battery light on but its charging

ok last night i was driving my 94 taurus wagon and suddenly the battery light came on. when i step on the gas it goes out and comes back on. i went back home and connected my voltmeter to my battery, 14.2 volts charging. so i left the meter connected to the battery and set it on my dash and drove around the block, voltage is charging between 13.9 and 14 volts(night time and lights on). I have never seen this happen on a car except when the alternator takes a crap. So i put the car in park. light stays on. slowely rev the engine to 2500 rpm, light stays on. quicly floor the throttle and let off, light goes out and comes back on. I shut the engine off, and push the throttle quickly, light stays on. it only does this when then the engine is running. im really confused about this . could something be wrong with the alternator? im going to try and clean the terminals and see if that changes anything. but today its not happening, its 30 mph winds and 27 degrees out, burrrrr. im not a fan of the cold and wind.

I have a 94 wagon that did the same thing. Come to find out the alternator has a small wire connector dirrectly on top of the alternator that was loose. I pressed the prongs closer together with a pair of needle noise pliers and no more light.

i messed with that plug on the alternator and cleaning it off. no more light. thank you so much. its appreciated.

I had the same thing couple of years ago, 94 wagon.. was fooling with something under the hood, started up the car, battery light was on.. wiggled the connector, poof no more light.
