Park Ave. Missing on #3

Now this car is missing on the #3 cylinder (according to the code). I've changed the coil, spark plug and plug wire, and still reading #3. I'm thinking perhaps its the injector? And if so, (1) how do you change out an injector and (2) Parts.com had one for around $90 - sound about right?

The how to change injectros can be found at autozone.com, repair guides, first check the resistance, should be 11.0-12.5 ohms, also see if you can feel it " ticking" when running.

Re: Park Ave. Missing on #3

1998 - 137,000 on car with around 70,000 on engine - this is the 2nd engine as the first was a victim of the notorious manifold gasket issue.

I checked the #3 injector and it didn't seem to have any "noise." My ohm meter indicated lower ohms than the range mentioned. Thus, I purchased an injector this morning and will be installing it today. Will let all know how it goes.

Thanks for your help!!! Happy New Year everyone!!!!

Re: Park Ave. Missing on #3

Well, after letting the car sit during the winter, I finally changed the #3 fuel injector and that corrected the rough running engine. Now however, the engine is cutting out when the rpm's are increased, back to an idle level - then returns to the original rpm level. I loosened the air filter cover to see if the engine was "starving" for air, but it had no effect. I'm thinking the MAP could be the issue. Oh, by the way, this car started this behavior after filling it with BP 87 octane fuel - could be a coincidence.Ok, I know someone will say I need to put it on a diagnostic computer when running - I get that - or do it myself - with a purchase of around $300 in software. Any other thoughts?
