97 Lumina 3.1 EGR Valve Testing

Continue to get a EGR low flow code on the car. I have removed the EGR to making sure it is clean and the plunger moves freely. Checked for clogging and debiris in ports and all appears OK. Is there a way to test the EGR valve itself by connecting it to 12 volts on a bench? Which wires at the plug supply currnet to the EGR and what activates them? Appreciate any help to test before I go buy a new EGR.

Great article but I need information on how to test a single solenoid EGR and not a triple unit.

i have a 99 lumina with 3100 v6. Im hsving the same code with my car . Everything i read say to check the manifold port for blockage. I ran my car with egr removed and found good exhaust flow on one port and good vacuum on the other but im still going to try cleaning out the intake port for egr valve

Re: 97 Lumina 3.1 EGR Valve Testing

egr tube (leading off the exhaust manifold) may be clogged

and i have cleaned that egr passage (like in the video) and yes that thing will clog totally up
