Transfer Case

I have searched and searched for this answer and can not seen to find it anywhere. I have a 93 S10 blazer 4WD, 5 speed manual tranny. And the transfer case makes a noise like the chain is slipping if I have to make a start on a hill. The front wheels will also spin on gravel with a quick start from a dead stop.

I am thinking of replacing this transfer case as I have replaced both switches, the one on the front differential and the one on the transfer case as well but still seem to have the problem.

The answer I need is are the splines the same for a transfer case from an automatic or a manual transmission. Or do I need to find one from a manual transmission. This is not an electric shift transfer case but a manual shift one.

Re: Transfer Case

Probably the same, but check with a boneyard to be sure. They will be able to tell you for sure.
