will a 2001 toyota camry trunk lid fit my 98 camry it looks the same but the tail-lights are different. i just want to know if it should line up. if so thats great!

What I do when I have a question like this is go to one of the Toyota dealer's online websites and check out the part numbers for both year's items. If the part numbers are the same, you have a positive answer to your question. If they are different, you also have your answer, just not the one you were probably hoping for.

I would bet money the part numbers are different. However, they may be interchangeable. If you have access to a 2001, take alot of measurements with a tape measure and see if you can find any difference, particularly in the hinge mount dimensions and location relative to the front and sides. A small difference in the hinge would make it more difficult. In this type of situation, you may be able to, for example, replace the trunk and hinges as a set. Eventually, if you replace enough parts, the collection will fit. Hopefully, all you need is the lid.
