Ferrari 430 Scuderia 1/24 Fujimi

Ive asked plenty of questions on this forum and have picked up lots of tips so have decided to put one of my WIPs on here. Im already over halfway done so this first post will be a catch up

Im also using the Crazy Modeler PE Set, Dexters Decals, Zero paint and some SMS Carbon.

The Body:

Painted with basecoat (Ferrari Nero Daytona)

First coat of clear before the decals

Decals on:

After Micro Meshing following final clear coat:

Polished Up:

Rear grille needed the middle cutting out and CF adding:

The Wheels:
Started off by removing the chrome..

The Brakes:

Used zero Giallo Fly for the calipers:

Engine:

Exhaust had a pretty bad mold line which would be visible through the new PE rear grille, did the best i could on this:

Interior:

Ive been working on this for about 4-5 months now, hope to get it done over xmas.

Really nice progress. You should put cf on the open vents (rear decklid) on the hatch. Nice job opening them up. Also shiny paint. What technique did you use on the seats if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks, i was planning to add some carbon to that area but have not got around to it yet, ive not touched the body since i finished polishing. Ive been covering the sides of the seats and also the top of the engine in carbon over the last couple of days and they are a PITA.

Here is my post from SPC about the seats, if you need any more info let me know. I tried drybrushing first and it looked terrible so i had to find another solution......

----------------------------------------------------

Finally managed to get something done with the middle of the seats that i am happy with so can start on finishing the interior. These are the real seats:

After a couple of failed attempts at trying to drybrush i decided to try spraying through mesh, in the same way that some people do carbon fibre.
I cut out some templates:

Used some of this stuff to hold them in place:

You must make sure that the mesh fits very snugly and that there are no raised areas as the paint will not get through and it will look odd.
Finally ended up with the middles looking like this:

Its not perfect but it will do. Ignore the overspray, now that the middles are done i can mask the area, paint the rest of the seat and add the carbon on the backs.
Next job is to finish the interior...
[/quote]

Then i painted around the outside to give the seats as they are shown in my first post in this thread.
