2004 Mitsubishi Lancer having problem

I have a 2004 mitsubishi Lancer EX. I am driving that for one year. it has 86000 on miles. I bought that car from a dealer.

when i bought that car that time the check engine light was on. they said that my catalytic converter is bad. so i bought that as its not a big concern.. for last two month i was feeling sth unusual. while i accelerate after 25 miles i feel a jerk. Same thing happen when i de accelerate and around 25 miles i feel the same jerk. that jerk is not always but most of the time.

I went to a technician he checked with his hand held computer and told me that that my neutral safety switch and stop light switch are wrong. but i was not satisfied .

then i went to Mitsubishi dealer. they checked my car they said i am feeling that jerk because 3 mounts of ( total 4) my engine has crack. they suggest me replace the mounts (Brackets) . But still i am not satisfy because if my brackets is the only problem then i should feel that jerk at every gear shift . i mean from 2 to 3 also. why only 1 to 2nd. please suggest me what should i do.

Re: 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer having problem

The 1-2 shift is a lot harder than a 2-3 or 3-4 because of the ratio jump, usually. So if you were to feel the thing jerk it would be there. I'd have to actually feel the shift to tell you if there is a problem. As far as Lancers go, there are very very few problems with the transmissions. I've replaced a few valvebodies, there is a revised clutch and cover for some of them but that is for a harsh or jerky 3-4 shift. How is the fluid? Is it low/dirty? Getting the fluid flushed if it is dirty might help.
