Will a 93 Century Motor & trans fit in a 94 Century?
to make a long story short I have 2 Cars. I have a 93 Century 3.3 V6 with a good engine and Trans but a smashed front end (my kid crashed it), and body is badly rusting. I also have a 94 Century 3.1 V6 body is fantastic but Trans is blown. Here are my Questions:
1. Can I drop the 93 3.3 V6 motor and Trans into the 94 that had the newer 3.1 V6? What Troubles do I face? Can it be done? If it cant be done here is question 2. 2. Are the transmissions interchangable between the 93 and 94? What problems might I face? Any tips or suggestions are appriciated. I want to get one running car out of this situation. Please help John in New Jersey |

Re: Will a 93 Century Motor & trans fit in a 94 Century?
It could be done, but not without a ton of headaches. the engine cradles are different between the 3.3 (it's a 90 degree V-6) and the 3.1 (it's a 60 degree V-6). In 94, GM started using a hybrid OBD diagnostic system, so the PCM/ECM's would be incompatible. You'd basically have to drop the entire fromt cradle, engine wiring harnes, radiator, etc to make this swap even possible work. Then you still have the possiblity of chassis/interior wiring issues to fight with. I would strongly suggest against attempting this. The resultant car will not be worth the effort.
