I GOT the 350!!

Its finally in my possession after all that talk! It needs a bit of cleanup but it runs and has about 7-8000 miles on it. I think im gunna paint the block that typical chevy orange. So paint, new valve covers, and a light carb cleanup is all it needs. It was $750. AND it even came with a beefy alternator which i have been wanting. Only bad part is this opened up a whole new can of worms of stuff i should really do when the engine is out like replace fuel lines and cleanup the engine compartment. But hey, itll be worth it in the end if its all done right the first time.

And while you are at it, take a quick look at the bearings. Look for abnormal wear patterns, excessive clearances and other damage. Consider using Plastic-gauge to measure clearances and retorque the bolts to spec.

I have encountered several freshly-rebuilt engines that were not properly cleaned prepped prior to final assembly, causing contaminents inbedded in the bearings, scored journals, spun bearings, stretched/weak bolts, improper bolt torque etc.
