What Drug are they on?
In my line of work (social worker) I see addicts all the time. Their drug of choice varies widely but i've found over time I can usually pick up on what drug they are on, or use regularly after not too long.
I found this quiz that I thought was pretty interesting to test this ability, got almost all of them right too  Guess the Drug http://tests.drugabuse.net/guess-the-drug/

I'm obviously not in the drug culture...only got 1 right, and that was the scene from Six Feet Under, and I already knew it was X.

3 for me! I got X too, never saw the movie, but he's so ecstatic I took a guess.
Got alcohol and marijuana too, I think we learned about those in a class in high school
