actually, if you want to get technical, heating the springs is WAY more ghetto then cutting them, because if you heat them, you significantly weaken them, possably resulting in them breaking at any given moment, plus, its lazy, to cut them you have to remove the springs, cut them, put them back on to see if it is low enough, if not do everything over again, so it requires effort, more effort in which i am willing to dish out on this old hoop-dee

Hey, Slammed!
I did this 'modification' to my 1970 El Camino. My Dad told me how it was done. I got two buddies to sit on the hood of the pickup while he heated up each spring with a torch.
Rrrrt. Rrrrrt. The sag was born, and it took about 3 minutes.
Flunky
PS-They did have to get red-hot.
PPS-I got 39 mothafckn cents. I would like fries with that.

why does everybody seem to think this? honda springs dont even need spring compressors to put them on or take them off. if you jack the car up and cut the springs, you can take the cut piece right out.

b/c its generally not a good practice to have, yes maybe the honda's aren't that bad, but when some one does a honda and then does a car the does have a lot of compression you get into trouble.. thats why i say that

If your smart you will sit something under the car so that it will only lower to a certian point. I know someon who didnt do this and the car was riding the ground after the springs cooled down.
