Car starts, stalls, will not restart.

I am having the same issue on my 2001 ford Taurus

2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Automatic 100000 miles

Bought used this last summer, some parts were replaced new including the alternator and battery. Now, it looks as though this problem has been there for awhile.

From the stop park position, car will start, then shut off, then will not turn over when attempting to start again. All diagnostics have been ran but no problems reported. *We have, however, traded the starter fuse with the cig lighter fuse with the car starting and functioning but then the problem returned a week later... Any ideas?

Re: Car starts, stalls, will not restart.

Welcome to the forum!

When you say the car will not "turn over when attempting to start again" do you mean the starter motor then fails to turn the engine over, or do you mean the starter motor turns the engine over but the engine doesn't start? It sounds like this has happened more than once. If so, what do you have to do to get it to start again? Do you walk away from the car for 2 hours? Overnight?

The more details you can provide to us, the better chance we'll have of giving you good suggestions.
