Re: remote starter

I installed a remote starter in a much older model, but maybe this will help. I'm almost positive it's an aftermarket item. You'll need to find out the brand and model number. There's a few ways of doing this. If the dealer was nice, they provided a manual. If not, they may be able to tell you the brand and model number. If not, there will be a rather large module somewhere under the dash that makes ticking noises when you use the remote start. The brand and model number should be on it. Do an Internet search of the brand and model number. The manual is probably online. Programming these things usually involves using the brakes and ignition switch in various sequences.

Re: remote starter

The OEM remote starters are not user friendly and nothing like the aftermarket sector. That remote start will only remote start ONCE after you have started it with the key. You can not restart it whether you shut it off or it times out 10min. later.

Re: remote starter

My factory Remote Starter let me start it twice ( Lock 2 times then Start Button) after 2 times I have to Start with the Ignition Key to reset the Remote Start again.

Re: remote starter

Depends on the release or manufacture date of the unit. Early ones were set for only one remote start while others are twice

Re: remote starter

Yes, they are set up to need to press lock before start.
