93 Park Avenue coolant sensor location.
3800 engine acts like it needs a choke and hard to keep running when cold.
I'm guessing that the "Cold Start Enrichment" is not taking place, however it does kinda cough once in a while when driving also. Otherwise, it runs good ![]() Where is the coolant sensor located on this engine? TIA gramps |

Re: 93 Park Avenue coolant sensor location.
Never mind, I found it hiding under the throttle body.
New one didn't help though, it still feels like it needs a choke to make it richer when cold.

Re: 93 Park Avenue coolant sensor location.
Time for a full scan starting with a cold engine, also check fuel pressure at the rail. Too many things can cause this to just throw parts at it.

Re: 93 Park Avenue coolant sensor location.
Thanks max
Yeah I usually don't just throw parts like that but I was waiting on my friend to stop by with his scanner (and waiting, and waiting, and w....) and it acted like it might be the cause plus it only cost 14.00 so I did it. ![]() Just bored and wanting to turn a wrench I guess. |

Re: 93 Park Avenue coolant sensor location.
Got it running GREAT today.
![]() My friend, a GM tech for 20 years brought his scanner by yesterday and found a bad TPS and a real bad vacuum leak in the brake booster. Had to pull the throttle body to get the screws TPS screws out ![]() That top-left booster nut sure is tough to get started, even with a wobble socket. Back to the Chevelle. |
