Thumbs up Quick Review..... 1/20 F1 Brake sets Hobby Design & Top Studio

As the title suggests, heres a quick review of three currently available brake detail sets for 1/20 scale Formula 1 kits.

TOP STUDIO TD:23007
for Tamiya Ferrari F1-2000 & F1-2001

Resin Brembo Calipers
Resin Rotors
PE hub detail and spacers
Soft wire for making rivets
Machined wheel nut/hub (1piece unit)
Colour instruction leaflet

TOP STUDIO TD:23032
for Tamiya McLaren MP4/13

Resin AP Calipers
White metal Rotors
PE hub detail and rotor vent holes
Soft wire for making rivets
Machined aluminium hub spacers
Machined Brass wheel nut/hub (2piece unit)
Black and white instruction leaflet

HOBBY DESIGN HD07-0048
for Fujimi McLaren Honda MP4/6

NO Calipers
White metal/Machined Rotors
PE hub detail
Machined rivets
Machined aluminium hub spacers
Threaded Brass rod and working wheel nuts
Black and white instruction leaflet

All three sets could easily be adapted for use on a wide variety of cars other than those listed in their titles.
Just bear in mind that no calipers are included in the Hobby Design set, which is fine if your using them for their intended kit but will require other solutions if you want to use them on something else.

Regards, Dan

I like the HD "Break set" LOL Maybe next time they can make a brake set...?

I just bought the TS Mp4/13 set and was really annoyed with myself afterwards. I thought that it would be good for my MP4/4 but reference photos showed me later that the 4/4 has in fact 2 callipers on each rotor doh!!

The 4/13 set has a strange solution for the ventilation in the rotors - a p/e strip to be inserted in the grove on the rotors. I imagine that it might be quite a job to get that looking neat and clean...?
