sentra 04 1.8 shuts off when stopped in traffic

i have had it happen to me twice now where the car would be running fine then all of the sudden the car shuts off and the check engine light comes on, but it starts up again no problem but i do notice when i am at a stop light my engine will rattle and rev up does anyone know what it may be?

I have the same problem except my check engine light is not on. And I did replace the IACC and it didnt help at all.

Does your car shuts down or idles very low every 30 secs, in cycles ?

i have a 94' sentra and my car did that to me and started up fine. the throttle might need to be adjusted

I remember digging through posts a while back when I was about to buy my Sentra, to find out common problems. Someone posted a problem very similar to that and another person said that it could be a failing cam angle sensor. Not sure if the 1.8 has any of the same issues or even any similar parts, but it's a definite possibility that that's the problem you're experiencing. Hope that helps some.
