bent frame

does anyone know how much it would cost to fix a bent frame for an 03 wrangler? The frame is off by 3 inches. Thanks for any help on this!

Re: bent frame

Wow...3 inches is a lot. You'll likely have alignment and drivetrain issues, as well as sheet metal fitting problems.

With that said, 2 options come to mind: 1st is to take it to a frame and alignment shop; the ones I've visited have been less than $500 to put it on the machine, and usually make no guarantees.

Next option would be to do a frame replacement. You could get one from a junkyard, or Quadratec has full frames available they'll ship to you....but that would be a LOT of work to change over to the new frame.

A 3rd option just came to me - report the accident to your insurance company, if you have the coverage.

Re: bent frame

^^Good post.

The proper procedure depends on how the frame was bent, and in what axis it's off 3 inches. Some kind of tweaks are much easier to pull straight than others.

Fortunately, the Wrangler is a structurally primitive vehicle, so its easy to find the damage and pull it straight.

So, go to 3 body shops, get some quotes and see what they say.
